The Avalanche had their work cut out for them in their second game. A goal by Lake allowed them to eke out the 1-0 verdict.

“The girls played a strong, consistent, defensive game and it also showed them that every game would not be as easy as the opener,” said Burgess.

The Avalanche had back-to-back hard fought games after the easy opening win. This time, consistent scorer Zoe Miller scored the lone goal of the game to provide the Avalanche with the win over the Northeast Kings Education Centre.

The win gave the Avalanche first place in their division and a berth in the tournament semi-finals.

In the first semi-final game, the Avalanche faced off against a New Brunswick team.

"I would have to describe this game as the strangest of the tournament,” said Tye, noting the Avalanche outshot Tantramar 39-6 but only scored one goal

It took a wrap around the net goal by Maggie Pittman to provide the Avalanche with the win.

For the championship game, the Avalanche knew it would take everything they had to get by Northeast Kings.

With solid goaltending from Leighton, the Avalanche received markers from Haley Williams, Rippey, who was selected the player of the game in the championship finale, and Lake to record a 3-0 win.
