Two Kentville curlers on Team Mattattall off to another national event

KENTVILLE NS - Two Glooscap curlers have another feather in their collective cap after the Mattatall team captured the Wilsons Seniors Championship Feb. 12.

The Mattatall team went undefeated in the provincial senior women’s championships, which were held in Dartmouth.

As a result Jill Alcoe-Holland and Andrea Saulnier also qualified for Senior Provincial Champions that will take place in Fredericton in March. 

Canada’s best curlers, male and female, over the age of 50 will take part in the 2017 Everest Canadian Senior Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships. The event is scheduled for March 18 to 25

Prior to that the Mattatll team are heading to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in St. Catherine’s, Ont. from Feb. 18-26.

Team Mattatall had an impressive 6-1 record earlier this month at the Scotties Provincial play downs in Halifax. The team, which plays out of the Windsor Curling Club, has been playing very consistently.

Skip Mary Mattatall and her Third, Marg Cutcliff, belong to the Mayflower Club in Metro Halifax. The foursome decided to meet up in Windsor to practise this year. Bruce Lohnes is coaching.
