DRHS junior curlers nipped at Districts

It was close, but not quite on the button at the curling district championships for the team from Digby Regional High School on the weekend.

Digby’s junior mixed rink finished out of the playoffs Sunday in Chester, but put in three good games, said team skip Meadow Carman.

Carman, with second Addie Hersey, mate Myles Bradley and lead Taylon Addington, were tied 3-3 going into the last end against Chester Area Middle School in their opening game Saturday. CAMS scored three in the end to win, 6-3.

The second game against Central Kings ended 6-6, with the tie broken by a draw to the button that gave the win to the Valley school.

On Sunday, Digby was tied until the fourth end, but lost when Middleton scored three in the fifth end to win 9-6.
