Forest fire hazard high to extreme in western Nova Scotia

As a weekend woods fire in Nictaux, Annapolis County, is still smouldering, the Department of Natural Resources says the fire index is rising. 

Hot, dry weather has increased the risk of fire in western Nova Scotia from high to extreme, according to the fire weather index.

Camp and brush fires are not allowed after 8 a.m. during wildfire season. Check the BurnSafe map at 2 p.m. daily for where and when fires are allwed.
