Police are investigating after a taxi driver was held up at gunpoint early Tuesday morning in Halifax.

Around 1:20 a.m. July 1, police say a taxi was called to an address on Huron Street and, when he arrived, two men approached his car.

That’s when police say one of the men got inside and demanded money, while the other person pointed a handgun at the driver.

The driver handed over his money and the two suspects then fled on foot towards Federal Avenue.

Police describe both suspects as Black men between the ages of 17 and 18, who were wearing black hoodies and black pants. Police say the suspect armed with the gun had a mask over his face.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
