Halifax police say three children from a Bedford school were taken to hospital Monday afternoon after their school bus was cut off by another car.

Just after 2:30 p.m., police spokesman Const. Pierre Bourdages said a bus carrying about 40 students from École Beaubassin was forced to stop abruptly at the intersection of Bedford Highway and Larry Uteck Boulevard.

“The bus was cut off by a vehicle,” Bourdages said.

He said three students were taken to the IWK Health Centre in Halifax with “undetermined injuries.” He said in all, seven children were injured.

Bourdages said there was no word on whether any of the injuries were serious.

Police officers were still on scene about an hour later with the bus pulled over into a nearby parking lot, Bourdages said.
