CLEMENTSPORT, NS – Charges are possible after a car struck a motorcycle early Sunday afternoon, Sept. 2 on Highway 1 in Clementsport.

“A few minutes before noon today, a serious collision occurred between a motorcycle rider and an oncoming car,” said Const. The female occupant of the motorcycle was thrown from her bike and sustained serious injuries. She was airlifted to hospital via LifeFlight.

Const. Ponee said the 23-year-old male driver of the car was not injured.

“Annapolis District RCMP is investigating the collision and have interviewed several witnesses,” she said, adding that criminal charges against the driver of the car may be pending.

Highway 1 in Clementsport was closed for several hours while emergency personnel were on scene, including RCMP, EHS, Annapolis Royal fire and Bear River fire.

The highway has since re-opened.

The investigation is ongoing, said Const. Ponee.
