Man charged with cocaine trafficking after 165 grams seized from car

He appears in provincial court today to face the charge

An RCMP cruiser was involved in a crash on Highway 101 at Exit 19 near Lawrencetown this morning. Cpl. Jennifer Clarke confirmed the RCMP car’s involvement and that there were no significant injuries. The other vehicle is a smaller red car.

GREENWICH, NS – A man is appearing in court today after being arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking after his car was searched.

Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU) stopped Jonathan Ross Allen, 28, of New Minas, on Highway 1 in Greenwich on November 6 at 4:30 p.m., with assistance from Windsor Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Kings District RCMP.

The planned stop was part of an ongoing investigation, and resulted in the seizure of 165 grams of cocaine found inside the car and the RCMP arresting Allen at the scene.

Allen was due in Kentville Provincial Court today to face the charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation remains ongoing.
