KENTVILLE – Two men have been charged following a break and enter at Nova Scotia Power’s Kentville location in the early hours of March 12.

Kentville Police responded to an alarm call at the Calkin Drive property and saw two males leaving the compound as they arrived.

After pursuing the men on foot into the woods, police received backup from the Halifax Regional K9 unit.

Police arrested both men, one aged 23 and the other a minor, who have each been charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000 and possession of break tools.

The 23-year-old will also face a charge of breaching probation and will appear in Kentville Court Apr. 24 to face charges. The minor will appear in court April 19 to face his charges.

Police chief Julia Cecchetto confirmed the name of the 23-year-old has not yet been released, and the name of the minor is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
