Blomidon Provincial Park has reopened to campers after post-tropical storm Arthur, but hikers looking to conquer Cape Split will need to exercise a little patience instead.

According the Department of Natural Resources, the trail is closed indefinitely due to downed trees.

“Many trees adjacent to the trail are at high risk of falling on the trail at any time” the department’s website says. “Until the trail has been cleared, it is not safe to use.

Difficulty in accessing remote areas of the trail will impact the length of time needed to clear the trail.”

Coldbrook, Lumsden Dam and Scots Bayand most other day use parks have also reopened.
