You could be eligible for help completing your income tax and benefit return. Free assistance is being offered to those who qualify through the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.

During these free tax preparation clinics, trained volunteers help eligible candidates complete and file their returns on time and claim all the benefits and credits the client is entitled to.

In Kings County, you can access the program every Wednesday until April 30 at the office of Kings South MLA Keith Irving on Harbourside Drive in the Railtown building in Wolfville. Sessions run from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. Call 542-0050 to book your appointment.

On April 10, 24 and 30, you can attend a session downstairs at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Belcher Street, Kentville, from 1 to 4 p.m. or 6 to 8:30 p.m. Call 690-2194 to book an appointment.

The suggested maximum income levels being used as a guideline to determine eligibility are up to $30,000 for a single person, up to $40,000 for a couple and up to $35,000 for an adult with one child.
