Crime Stoppers tip help police make arrest in Cherryfield break and enter

RCMP have made arrests in connection with a break into the Shelburne Lions Hall.

A 28-year-old Annapolis County man is a suspect in connection with a break and enter into a Cherryfield cottage.

At  7 p.m. March 18, Annapolis District RCMP, assisted by the Annapolis Street Crime Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Eves Street , Albany, after a tip from Crime Stoppers. Stolen property, associated to a recent cottage break and enter in Cherryfield was recovered at the scene, police say.

Matthew Lake, of Albany, is facing a number of charges, including break and enter and breaching the conditions of his undertaking.

Police say Lake is presently in custody in Halifax, having been arrested March 12 for a break and enter in that area.  He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court for a bail hearing today, March 19.

Police want to thank Crime Stoppers for their assistance in helping solve the alleged crime.
