Liverpool high school students perform at annual Christmas concert

LIVERPOOL, NS - Sounds of the Season greeted guests at Liverpool Regional High School (LRHS) Dec. 18.

The holiday concert featured the LRHS jazz band, concert band and Music 10 guitar class. There were also solos and duets.

The jazz band started the concert with favourites like Jingle Bell Rock, Kiss the Girl, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Hound Dog, and Hark, the Herald Angels Swing!

Katie Robinson then played the song Hallelujah as a guitar solo.

Students Liam Burgess, Ayden Theriault, Dominic Losier and Jordyn Duffney sang Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. They also rocked around the Christmas tree. Teacher Alex Gourley played the part of Christmas tree.

The Music 10 guitar class played Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and Santa Never Brings Me a Banjo. This was followed by a guitar trio, which played Jingle Bell Rock.

Duffney and Pyper Wilms played Jingle Bells as a piano duet.

Liverpool Regional High School’s concert band finished the show with a number of holiday songs, including three Christmas sing-a-longs.
