Lions, Fuelers both face league leaders
Clare Lions host the Junior C league-leading Eastern Shore Mariners today at 8:30 p.m. in the Université Sainte-Anne arena in Church Point.

The Lions started the weekend with a 9-4 thrashing at home last night of the visiting Yarmouth Kings, led by a four-goal game from Jacques Lombard.

Mario Blinn added a pair for the Lions, and Nick Knutson, Marc Lombard, and Luc Thibodeau had singles.

Nick Comeau got the win in a game that was actually close in scoring opportunities. Clare only outshot Yarmouth, 28-26.

Stan Bishara took the loss in nets for Yarmouth and was relieved by Mike Smith. They combined to make 19 of 28 saves.

The Digby-based Valley Fuelers are at Barrington today for a 7 p.m. start against the Ice Dogs, and at home on Sunday against the Eastern Shore Mariners.
