Clinic for high-risk groups
South West Health announced Sunday that vaccine will be available for the three high-risk groups at community clinics this week, only one of which is in Digby County.
The three groups are pregnant women and women up to four weeks postpartum, children aged six months to 59 months, and people living in First Nations communities.
The clinic will be held Thursday in the Royal Canadian Legion branch in Saulnierville from noon until 7 p.m.
“Unfortunately, at this time we do not have vaccine available for children’s parents, caregivers or older siblings,” said spokesperson Fraser Mooney. “We will offer more clinics as vaccine becomes available.”
Long waits can be difficult, especially for pregnant women and young children, notes South West Health, and advises those attending the clinic to prepares for a long lineup. Dress warmly, consider bringing snacks, drinks and perhaps a folding chair, and bring your health card.
