RCMP responded to a total of 96 calls in the Annapolis County region during the 10-day period from December 19 to 29. Among these were 13 false alarm, three false 911s, 13 traffic incidents, and four domestic incidents.

Search crews were once again combing the Annapolis River this past Sunday and Monday seeking any clue as to the fate of Elizabeth Morrissette after receiving a report of an unidentified object in the cold and swollen waters southwest of downtown Middleton. The 19-year-old was reported missing three weeks ago when a car she allegedly occupied left the road and plunged into the Black River near Wilmot.

This New Year’s Eve, RCMP would remind everyone to organize a sober drive home before partaking of celebrations, and to remember to drive in accordance with road conditions.
