Queens County residents vie for board seat
Two Queens County residents are vying for the position of African Nova Scotia School Board Member for the South Shore Regional School Board.
They are Mustapha Maynard of East Port Medway and Vaughn West of Liverpool.

“The election will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008,” said Returning Officer Ted Bulley while announcing that nominations have closed.

Voting will take place at Advance Polls on Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 from noon until 8 p.m., and on Election Day, Dec. 13, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Polls will be located at the Masonic Lodge #216 in Bridgewater, Zetland Masonic Lodge #9 in Liverpool and at the East Chester Recreational Centre in East Chester.

In order to qualify to be on the list of electors and vote, a person must be African Nova Scotian or the parent or guardian of an African Nova Scotian person, a Canadian citizen 18 years or older and must reside and have resided within Lunenburg Co., Queens Co. or the Maitland Bridge poll of Annapolis Co. since September 13, 2008.
