Investigation concluded in fatal collision
The RCMP's Western Traffic Services unit has concluded their investigation in the fatal collision that claimed the life of a Clark's Harbour woman on June 9, 2008.
A flat bed trailer unhooked itself from a truck and collided into a van in the opposite lane in Newellton, Shelburne County. RCMP say this was a preventable collision had the driver of the truck done a pre-trip inspection as required by law to confirm the trailer was properly hooked up.

There was no indication of criminal intent by the truck driver, a resident of Clark's Harbour, who was charged for failing to perform a pre-trip inspection.
