Hello, everyone. Please take time to “Remember” today. Think about our freedoms and the country we enjoy every day. Think about your families and friends and Remember!

The card party for Nov. 4 had a wonderful turnout. There were 12 tables enjoying the evening. Loyla Horner won the ladies’ first prize and Darren Hutchinson won the first prize for the men. Ken Long won the low prize for the evening; Reta Lloyd won the door prize while Hilda Allen won the 50/50. The traveler prize was not won.

Everyone had a great time and a big thank-you goes out to everyone helping with the lunches. It’s greatly appreciated. If anyone wishes to help that have not been called upon, feel free to contact the hall to volunteer.

Hockey is taking place now in many communities for all age groups. Please take a moment and go see a hockey game and see how the young children are developing and having fun. Support the local groups by helping out with fundraisers or just by being supportive.

Many families like mine will have 50/50 tickets to sell as well as other fundraising campaigns throughout the season. If you would like to help out by purchasing a ticket for a chance to win, just call me or someone else that you know.

Gaspereau School is having a cookbook fundraiser. If you would like to purchase a cookbook you can contact the school for more information.

There is a community wedding shower for Freeman and Sarah Levy Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the White Rock Hall. Come and show your kindness and share in their happiness.

The White Rock Baptist Church is holding a rummage sale every Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to check out the treasures available.

Tai Chi classes take place every Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Black River Community Hall. No charge. Everyone is welcome.

Line Dancing will be taking place every Wednesday from 7:30-9 p.m. at the Black River Community Hall. Everyone is welcome. No charge.

Happy birthday to Glenda Schofield, who is celebrating Nov. 17, and happy birthday to Ken Long, who celebrated Nov. 8. Happy anniversary to Dick and Marie Weir, who will celebrate Nov. 15 and happy anniversary to Brad and Glenda, who will celebrate Nov. 17.
