Busy summer for Ladies' Auxiliary
The Legion Auxiliary started its fall meeting with a delicious potluck supper. President Emma chairing the meeting and 31 ladies responded to roll call.

New member Shirley Titus was installed into the auxiliary and welcomed by the members, and transfer member Treca Johnstone was welcomed back to the auxiliary.

A thank-you card from the Job family was read, thanking the auxiliary for the refreshments provided for their 50th anniversary open house.

Padre Gayle gave her report to-date. She reported attending Legion service for Agnes Miller July 4 and leaving a card; July 14 sent a card to Mildred Messervey on the passing of her sister; July 20 attended the Legion service for Comrade Vincent Young and left a card; Aug. 11 sent a card to Lola Horner on the passing of her brother in-law; Aug. 13 attended the service for Comrade Norman MacDonald and left a card; Aug. 24, attended the service for Comrade John Graves and left a card.

Wanda Fletcher reported having a busy summer with Sick and Visiting, calling members Janke Jones, Bea McGee, Bea McKeen Margaret Brinton, Minnie Crossman, Cecilia Wile, Jr. Taylor and Clyde Tasko.

A gift on behalf of the Ladies’ Auxiliary was presented to Mildred Messervey, a long-time member of the Auxiliary, as she is moving out of province.

Sgt. at Arms reported also having a busy summer with the colours attending parades and funeral services as stated:

July 1, Hantsport; July 12, Kingston Steer BBQ; Aug. 2, Sam Slick Day, Windsor; Sept. 1, Gala Days, Berwick.

Colours attended funerals for Comrade Agnes Miller July 4, Comrade Vincent Young, July 20, Comrade Norm MacDonald Aug. 13, Comrade John Graves Aug. 24.

Two applications for membership were brought forward and accepted by the members.

A two-minute silence was observed for Alfred Jordan, Margaret Brinton and Agnes Miller.

Our next meeting will be Oct. 20, and this will also be the Ladies’ Auxiliary "Award" night.
