Queens home raided in drug bust
South Shore Integrated Crime Unit raided three homes in the Lunenburg and Queens area on Oct. 1, resulting in five arrests.
The raid netted $370,000 worth of marijuana, as well as pot growing equipment, vehicles and ATVs. It was the largest seizure in the 18 months of the crime unit’s existence.
Search warrants were executed in three locations, including one at a home in Danesville. Two locations in Lunenburg Co, one in Cookville and one in Lower Branch, were also raided.
About 30 kilograms of marijuana were seized, along with a small amount of cocaine and grow-op equipment.
The investigation is not over however. The case will now go to commercial crime and proceeds-of-crime investigators, who will look at the assets of the individuals.
Names of the individuals charged had not been released at press time. The individuals will appear in Bridgewater provincial court on Dec. 17 on charges of possession of cocaine, and producing and trafficking marijuana.
