RCMP to increase patrol of playground
Barrington RCMP are stepping up their patrol of the Brass Hill playground after receiving a report of spike-studded wood left in the area.
Playground committee chair Andrea Huskilson-Newell found the sections of wood embedded with spikes, placed pointed-end up in an area where the children play.
“I brought the matter to the police because things like that can hurt the children,” she said.
The boards were found close to a skateboard ramp where a note was scrawled “Don’t mess with our f$#@ing skatepark.
The playground was recently reclaimed from the wild to serve an estimated 30 to 40 children under 12 years of age in the community.
