Mariners double Timberwolves

The Yarmouth Mariners (4-1-0-0) doubled the Miramichi Timberwolves (2-2-0-0) 4-2 Saturday night in Miramichi.



Jordan Scott led the Mariners with three goals and an assist while Ryan Nickerson adding a goal and an assist.



Nickerson scored at 13:02 to give the Mariners a 1-0 lead. Kyle MacDonald scored at 14:37 to tie the game 1-1. Scott scored at 15:40 to regain the lead for Yarmouth at 2-1 after the first period. There was no second period scoring. Scott (unassisted, game winner, second goal of game) scored at 15:49 to extend the lead to 3-1. Chris Owens scored at 17:45 to cut the lead to 3-2. Scott (unassisted empty net, third goal of game) rounded out the scoring at 18:59.



Yarmouth went 0 for 5 on the powerplay while Miramichi went 0 for 5.



Dallas Ungurian stopped 32 of 33 shots for the win while Bradley Dyke (57:30) stopped 30 of 33 shots in the loss before being replaced by Jean Michel Legace. Legace (1:13) stopped the only shot he faced.
