Maritime senior baseball championship cancelled
Due to the length of the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League playoffs, coupled with delays because of inclement weather and scheduling conflicts, the Maritime championship series between the Nova Scotia champion (Halifax Pelham Canadians or Kentville Wildcats) and the New Brunswick Senior Baseball League champion (Fredericton Royals) has been cancelled.

"Everything that could have been done to ensure this series could be played was attempted," said NSSBL president and chief administrative officer Jim McEachern. "But with both Nova Scotia semi-finals going the full seven games as well as delays thanks to poor weather in the region the last couple of weeks, the logistics simply weren't there to be able to complete a Maritime championship series in timely fashion."
