Additional physician coverage has been secured for Sept. 11 and Sept. 25, and emergency department closures on those dates have been reduced to 12 hours instead of 24 hours.

The ER will be closed the following hours in September:

• Thursday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Monday, Sept. 8, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, Sept. 11 at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Monday, Sept.15, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Monday, Sept. 22, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Thursday, Sept. 25 at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

• Monday, Sept. 29, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Area residents who need emergency services during the hours of closure should visit Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Annapolis Community Health Centre or Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville.

The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of an emergency. An ambulance can only be dispatched by calling 911.

When you go to any emergency department, always bring your Nova Scotia Health Card, a list of medications and a list of allergies.
