The Kamloops Rube Band says they’re available for weddings, cremations, flag lowerings, snake stomps and tattoo removals. They can now add Scallop Day warmups to that list.
The 47-member band of musical marching buskers caught a few people in Digby by surprise--they weren’t part of the official lineup for Scallop Days. In fact, they arrived Aug. 5, the day before the Festival officially began.

The Rube Band, which has a 50-year history in their home town of Kamloops, B.C., had performed at the City of Halifax’s Natal Day and were heading back for Halifax’s Busker Festival. They decided that a town with an annual shellfish celebration was also worthy of a visit.
