Four fishermen rescued from burning boat
Two other vessels came to aid of a burning boat off the coast of Cape Breton Sunday afternoon and were able to rescue the four fishermen that had been on board.

A mayday call was placed around 12:30 p.m. stating that the fishing boat Dream Away was in trouble. At the time the boat was about 150 kilometres southeast of Louisbourg.

A Cormorant helicopter and a Hercules aircraft from 14 Wing Greenwood were dispatched to the scene.

However according to reports, it was a container vessel that was first on the scene. The crew was already in a lifeboat, having spent four hours on the water waiting to be rescued. The container vessel was able to get the four crewmembers off of their burning boat. They were then transferred to the fishing vessel Seven Wonders to be taken into port at Louisbourg.

It was unknown to rescue officials at the time of the incident what had caused the fire on board the Dream Away.
