The Nova Scotia Arm Wrestling Association will be holding an arm wrestling competition Saturday, July 19. This will be at the Raceway Park in Middleton as part of the Heart of the Valley Festival. This is the largest annual arm wrestling competition in Eastern Canada.
Weigh-ins will begin at 11 a.m. with the junior competition starting at 12 p.m. and the adult competition at 2:30 p.m. This is an open competition with both elite and amateur classes.
This will be a double-elimination tournament with three men’s amateur right hand classes, two men’s amateur left-hand and one ladies’ right and one ladies left hand class. There will also be two men’s right and two men’s left hand elite classes. Prizes will be presented to the top three finishers in each of the 11 classes.
A junior competition will be open to anyone under the age of 19. There are right and left hand classes for both girls and boys. There is no minimum age limit as kids as young as four years old will be vying for top honours. Awards will he handed out to the top three competitors in each class. Weight classes will be determined the day of the competition.
