Kings RCMP - as of July 8

There were 120 reports made to RCMP in Kings County between July 8 and July 10.

Deep scratches were found in a trunk cover at 9:47 a.m. July 8 on Marsh Hawk Dr., Wolfville. The area has been a hotspot for loud partying and foolishness as of late.

A call at 10:25 a.m. reported off road vehicles driving at dangerous speeds on Oak Island Rd. in Avonport the night before.

Vandalism and public mischief were reported at 11:37 a.m. A wooden bench was removed from the pier at the Kingsport beach and used for a bonfire.

A pedestrian was hit from behind by a vehicle turning onto Main St., Wolfville at 2 p.m. Injuries were not serious.

There was a motor vehicle accident on the 101 Highway in Hantsport: a vehicle stopped for construction was rear ended at 3:40 p.m. There were no injuries.

A few minutes later, two teen males were causing a nuisance outside of the Co-op Atlantic store in New Minas. One of the young men urinated on the building.

Increased patrols were requested on Wallbrook Mountain to handle on-going speeding of vehicles down the mountain in the late evening.

A Honda 250 motorcycle was reported stolen at 8:40 p.m. from Patricia Dr., New Minas.

There was a two-vehicle accident at 9 p.m. on Highway 1 in Cambridge. One ticket was issued and, although there were injuries, none were serious.

A Church St. residence in Port Williams was reported broken into at 11:28 p.m. An ipod and camcorder were stolen. The resident said he left the door unlocked because of repair work occurring that day.

A woman hit a deer on the 101 Highway near Avonport at 1:57 a.m. July 9.

Two young males stole a table and chairs from the New Minas Superstore at 4:04 a.m. Police caught one of the males fleeing into the woods, where they found the merchandise. The youth, found to be intoxicated, was held in New Minas cells.

Trespassers were asked to leave private property where they were tenting at 6:41 a.m. on Old Farm Rd. in Greenwood.

Theft of oil was reported at 8:42 a.m. on Matthew Lane in Kingston. The caller said her oil tank had been emptied gradually since April. Officers suggested she buy a lock for her tank.

There was a noise complaint regarding some roofers on Main St., Wolfville at 9:41 a.m.

A New Minas resident reported someone had gotten onto his eight-year-old daughter’s Microsoft Messenger account and was sending nasty and sexual remarks to her at 2:03 p.m.

Gas was reported siphoned out of vehicles at an Upper Church St. residence in Kentville at 2:57 p.m.. This is an on-going problem, and police have suggesting buying locks and ensuring the area is better lit.

A caller reported the theft of recyclables from the Canning Lion’s Club at 3:28 p.m.

A witness reported a stolen wheelchair from the Valley Regional Hospital at 8:45 p.m.

A vehicle and bicycle collided on Balser Dr., Kingston. The bicyclist crashed into the car when he could not stop his bike on loose gravel. He sustained minor injuries.

A drunken man refused to leave a New Minas pizza shop at 11:56 p.m.

Someone was banging on an inn office door on Commercial St., New Minas at 2:26 a.m. July 10. The man was reported to have left westbound on foot, but was later found sleeping on the office porch.

A van window was reported broken on Cherry Lane in Wolfville at 7:19 a.m.

There were five domestic incidents and four mental health calls.

There were five false business alarms, six false residential alarms and 15 false 911 calls.

A motor vehicle accident occurred soon after on Greenfield Rd. in Gaspereau, when a cornering vehicle forced an oncoming car out of its lane. There were no injuries.

Police deposited a drunk into holding cells shortly after he was reported on Highland Ave. in New Minas at 8:07 p.m.

A 48-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving on Peck Meadow Rd. in Melanson at 9:22 p.m.

Homeowners were asked to turn music down at 9:32 p.m. in New Minas. Another noise complaint in New Minas turned out to be a wedding reception at 12:49 a.m. July 6. Officers spoke to both the homeowner and groom.

Partygoers on Marsh Hawk Dr. in Wolfville were disturbing neighbours by yelling, “Two songs!” at 2:20 a.m.

A 51-year-old male was stopped while leaving a liquor establishment at 3:52 a.m. in Coldbrook. He failed a breath test shortly afterwards.

A vehicle left a station on Highway 1 in Greenwood without paying a $72 charge at 11:41 a.m.

Dogs were left in vehicles, this time at Wal-Mart in New Minas. Two women were found and warned at 3:44 p.m.

Five people refused to extinguish a campfire and leave private property at 4:30 p.m. on Black Rock Rd. in Black Rock.

A 46-year-old male was arrested for driving while grossly impaired on Central Ave. in Greenwood a 6:57 p.m.

Property damage and mischief was reported at 9:55 a.m. July 7 when someone keyed a jeep on Birchcrest Dr. in Cambridge.

At 2:19 p.m. in Kingston, a woman mistakenly used someone else’s cart to do her full shopping. When the woman realized the mix-up at the cash, her purse had been stolen out of her abandoned cart.

Theft of pipes, fittings and conduit was reported at 3:32 p.m. from a Cherry Lane construction site in Wolfville.

A puppy was left in a closed car at the Greenwood Sobey’s. The owner was found and warned, although the inside of the car was found to be quite cool due to previous air conditioning.

Another dog was reported to be in distress in another Greenwood parking lot at 7:32 p.m. When police arrived, the vehicle was gone.

A woman was reported to be unresponsive behind the Wolfville library at 7:52 p.m. Police talked to the woman, who was found to be drunk, and took her to the New Minas cells to be held until sober.

A car left the Esso Station on Highway 1 without paying for $50 worth of gas at 7:55 p.m.

An hour later, a 31-year-old man was removed from the Valley Regional Hospital and arrested for public intoxication.

There was a hit-and-run at 7:45 a.m. July 8, when one vehicle backed into another on Glendale Dr. in New Minas.

Wire was stolen from a construction site on Glebe Rd. in Greenwood Square at 9:31 a.m. This was the second time in two weeks a robbery had occurred.

There were 17 domestic incidents and 16 mental health calls. There were 23 false business alarms, 10 false residential alarms and 20 false 911 calls.
