CSO, house arrest for offenses

The court has imposed a conditional sentence order (CSO) on a Greenhill man for offenses he committed in Hants and Kings counties.

Adam David Chambers, 21, pleaded guilty in Kentville provincial court Thursday, July 3, to threatening to cause a person death or bodily harm, possession of property valued at less than $5,000 and known to have been obtained unlawfully, and failing to comply with a court undertaking.

He had already pleaded guilty June 2 to assault with a weapon, a pipe.

Judge Alan Tufts imposed a one-year CSO on Chambers for the convictions.

The first two months of the CSO is in the form of house arrest, with the usual exceptions for employment, education, appointments or emergencies. The judge also imposed a three-year firearms ban on the accused, and ordered him to provide a DNA sample to Corrections officials.

Chambers committed the assault in Three Mile Plains July 6, 2007; the threat Sept. 26, 2007; and the possession and undertaking breach in Port Williams June 10, 2008.

Convicted automatically

Judge Tufts convicted automatically Bramber resident Paul Eldon Lake, 47, Tuesday, June 24, of driving while his privilege of obtaining a license was revoked, contrary to the MVA.

The judge fined Lake $500.

Police laid the charge in Mount Uniacke May 17.
