RCMP probing forest fire cause in Jordan Falls

The cause of a fire that consumed between 300 and 400 hectares of woodland near the Wentworth and Lake John Road in Jordan Falls is being considered suspicious by police and Natural Resources officers.

The fire, discovered on Thursday, June 26, had the potential to destroy homes on the Lake John Road but within a few days was brought under control by crews, aircraft and timely rains.

Police are asking for the publics' help to find out who may have started the fire and to help determine if the cause was accidental or arson.
