Trip to the liquor store costly
A 20-year-old Bridgetown man will be spending 30 days in jail after taking a trip to the liquor store, contrary to the conditions of his house arrest.
Michael White had been sentenced to 12-months house arrest June 18 for his role in a robbery in Bridgetown in December 2007.
He was arreest June 24 after police received information that he had visited the local liquor store and purchased alcohol. When RCMP went to his home, he was not there. White was later apprehended at the probation office in Middleton where he had a scheduled meeting with his probation officer to be fitted with a monitoring device as part of the conditions of his house arrest.
White was taken to jail and was scheduled to appear in court June 25 in Annapolis Royal. At the court appearance he pleaded guilty to violating conditions of his house arrest and was sentenced to 30 days in jail. He will still have to finish out the tearms of his house arrest when he is released.
