Tax rates unchanged in Annapolis Royal
Town to work on water, sewer projects
Residents of Annapolis Royal will not see an increase in their tax rates this year, which will remain unchanged at $1.65 residential and $3.05 commercial.
On June 16, the town council approved the 2008-2009 operating and capital budgets, with total budget expenditures amounting to $2,123,868.
The capital budget includes the provision of water and sewer to the property line of a new subdivision to be built behind Save Easy on St. Anthony Street. It also includes the development of the next section of the perimeter trail.
Large capital projects, such as Phases two and three of water and sewer replacements on Champlain Drive, Ritchie and Grange Streets, and St. Patrick’s Lane, as well as the replacement of the old section of boardwalk, may also proceed this fiscal year depending on the availability of grant money and the town’s ability to absorb its share of the costs.
