Outdoor concert at Acadian Village to feature Dwight d’Eon
-
Dwight d’Eon, one of last year’s Canadian Idol finalists, will perform outdoors at the amphitheatre on the grounds of Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse in West Pubnico on July 19 at 8 p.m. The museum, part of the Nova Scotia Museum family of museums, marks the site where deported Acadian families settled upon returning to Nova Scotia. It is the oldest community in Canada still populated by the descendents of its founder.
Part of the proceeds from d’Eon’s performance will help support the local museum’s efforts to share the story of the Acadians and how their culture survived the deportation of 1755.
Situated on a 17-acre site overlooking Pubnico harbour, Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse depicts Acadian life from the mid-1600s to the late 1800s.
Admission to the concert is $10 (all ages welcome to attend). There is a cash bar available to those of age (photo ID required).
Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle Écosse is situated right along the coast a half hour east of Yarmouth.
