Kentville Mayor Dave Corkum (left) presented a certificate of appreciation and councillor Eric Bolland (centre) presented a gift to Major Jamie Hunter, Camp Aldershot detachment commander, on behalf of council, town staff and the citizens of Kentville prior to the June council session. Hunter, who lives in Kentville, has completed a three-year posting at Camp Aldershot and will now be reposted to Fredericton, New Brunswick, his previous posting. The certificate and gift came in recognition of the great working relationship Hunter helped to build between Camp Aldershot and the Town of Kentville. In turn, Hunter presented the mayor and town council with a plaque on behalf of all military and civilian ranks at Aldershot thanking the town for its support of the camp. Hunter said he was honoured by the presentation from the town, but he wasn’t working alone in his accomplishment. He said he has enjoyed his time in Kentville and he and his family have been very active in the community. Hunter said the town is a great place to bring up children and to know people.
