Path to waterfront will be cleared
It was recommended to council at the June 10 committee of the whole meeting to allow Robert Young to clear a right of way owned by the Region of Queens Municipality for public access.

“There are a number of long narrow right of ways that belong to the Region of Queens,” said Mayor John Leefe. “They were inherited in the old Liverpool Township and we want to maintain them.”

At no cost to the region, Young will cut a 16.5 foot right of way in Mersey Point from the highway down to the water, said Mayor Leefe.

“Some time ago council took the decision that at some future date, one or more of these (right of ways) would be cut out to provide access from the public road to water front areas,” he added.

Council passed the motion at the June 16 meeting.
