Barrington fisherman fined $20,000
John Peter Atwood, 61, of Barrington has been fined $20,000 for violations dating back to 2007.
Atwood pleaded guilty to having 50 untagged lobster traps and forfeited his catch, worth $21,000 to the Crown.
His licence has been suspended for the last two weeks of May 2009.
Fishery officers laid the charges during an investigation at the West Head wharf on Cape Sable Island on Dec. 11.
