The Michelin Special Olympics Torch Run will fill Liverpool streets with students and athletes on June 11.
“There will be representatives there from three schools, Dr. John C. Wickwire, South Queens Junior High School and Liverpool Regional High School, from the Region of Queens Municipality, the Queens Association for Supported Living and the RCMP,” said Michelin Special Olympics committee member Peter Truelove.
Starting at 1 p.m. runners will start on the bottom of Old Port Mouton Road.
They will go down Main Street and make the loop around.
Michelin’s mascot, Bib will lead the group.
Truelove noted other torch runs will take place in Bridgewater, Pictou and Waterville.
“Michelin also goes into the schools with a representative from Special Olympics and does and educational program to schools surrounding Michelin plants,” he added.
The Special Olympic summer games take place June 13 – 15.
