The Events column is for non-profit listings of events in Digby County. Items may run twice for free before the event’s date. June 14 Country breakfast at Barton Baptist Church from 7–10 a.m. Bring Dad for Father’s Day.

June 14 – ‘Two countries, one forest ‘ presentation by Karen Beasley in Oakdene Community Centre, Bear River, at 1 p.m., sponsored by South Nova Biosphere Reserve Association.

June 16 Annual general meeting of Digby & Area Early Intervention Association at 6 p.m. at office in Weymouth. Public welcome. For information, call 837-7315.

June 19 Spring tea in New Tusket Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2 – 4 p.m. sponsored by the New Tusket Women’s Institute.

June 20 Clare Relay for Life at l'Ecole Secondaire de Clare, Meteghan River, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

June 21 Firemen’s breakfast in Smith’s Cove Fire Hall-Community Centre from 7:30–10 a.m. Proceeds for fire department.

June 21 Yard sale & used clothing sale at

Smith’s Cove Baptist Church from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds to auxiliary for church repairs.

June 22 Bluegrass gospel concert at Hill Grove United Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Special guests The Dearman Sisters. Help send a child to Camp Peniel this summer. Free will offering.

June 22 Gulliver’s Cove beach sweep beginning at 10 a.m. Everyone welcome. For information, call 245-4388 or 245-2762.

June 23 – Save the Ferry rally postponed.

Rally planned for Cornwallis Park theatre to be called at a later date.
