RCMP make arrests, lay charges of trafficking in cocaine
The RCMP have laid charges of cocaine trafficking and possession charges against five people following the recent execution of two search warrants on town residences.

The first set of charges stems from the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Tuesday, April 29. Two adult males from Yarmouth – Cory Eugene Parsons, 33, and Ronald James DeViller, 59 – were arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Both were released from police custody and are to appear in provincial court in Yarmouth on July 8.

The residence where the search warrant was executed is located across the street from the junior high school and an elementary school and a block from the high school. The RCMP claim to have seized an undisclosed amount of crack cocaine during the raid.

On Friday, May 2 another search warrant was executed at an apartment on Cliff Street, resulting in the arrest of two males and one female, all from Yarmouth.

Danaya Elizabeth Boudreau, 23; Richard Kelvin Sherman, 57 and Philip James Wilson, 35 have each been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. The trio has been released from custody on court undertakings and are to appear in provincial court on July 8.

Both matters remain under investigation.

Several RCMP units were involved in the execution of the search warrants. This included members of the RCMP town detachment, the Yarmouth town General Investigation Section (GIS), the Yarmouth/Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), the Yarmouth Drug Section, the RCMP South West Nova District and the RCMP police dog services.
