Fundraiser

Tinpot will be performing at the Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School on Friday, May 2, at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for students and $7 for adults. All proceeds will be going to the YCMHS Home and School.

YMCA auction

The Yarmouth YMCA’s 4th annual travel and leisure auction is taking place on Saturday, May 3, at the Yarmouth Golf and Country Club. Tickets are $10 per person $15 couple and includes drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased at the YMCA or at the door. For more info contact the YMCA at 902-742-7181.

Craft fair

The Yarmouth Fire Department auxiliary’s craft fair will be held at the Yarmouth fire hall on Pleasant Street Saturday, May 3, (for one day only this year) 9-4:40. $1 door charge for those age 10 and over. Woodworking, painted glass items, baked goods etc.

Fundraiser

There will be a scallop potato and baked beans supper at the Valley and District fire hall, Deerfield on May 3 starting at 4 p.m. Proceeds in support of sending children to Camp Peniel.

Veterans’ lunch

SOMORE will be meeting May 3 to discuss the designing of the skate board park. Meeting at the site across from Emin’s Market at 11 a.m. then to the former Notre Dame hall from 12 noon to 2 p.m.

Toonie fun day

A toonie fun day for ages 5-10 years will be held at the YMCA on May 3 from 2-4 p.m. witgh sports, games, Nintendo Wii, Dance Dance Revolution, bingo, and prizes. Canteen available with all items $1 each. Admission $2 includes a ticket for a door prize of a Super Soaker. Proceeds go to local elementary schools for a gift basket for children in need. There will be a community breakfast at the Richfield fire hall Saturday, May 3, from 7:30 until 10 a.m. Proceeds for the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department. Serving juice, toast/muffins, eggs, ham, pancakes, hashbrowns, tea/coffee. $6.

Roast beef dinner

There will be a roast beef dinner sponsored by the Fundy Southern Rail Model Railroaders at the Knights of Columbus hall on Collins Street May 3, 4-6:30 p.m. Adults $10, children under 12, $5. Take out available.

Concert

The Yarmouth Community Chorale’s spring concert “Come to the Celebration” will be held Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 at Beacon Church, Yarmouth. Tickets at the door.

Turkey supper

There will be a turkey supper at the Carleton Legion, branch 167, Saturday, May 3, starting at 4:30 p.m. sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.

Dance

There will be a dance at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155 in Wedgeport, 9 p.m. to midnight. The music will be by the Claretone Reunion Band.

Murder mystery

There will be a murder mystery weekend at le Club Adadien Saturday, May 3, at 7 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to fill several positions on the Yarmouth Red Cross Emergency response Team in Yarmouth. Focus on providing relief assistance to people in the community who have experienced a personal disaster or responding to a medium or large scale disaster. Training provided.
