Waste Check earns recognition
Waste Check earned an honorable mention in the 2008 Mobius Environmental Awards as runner-up in ‘region of the year’.

Waste Check was cited for its collaborative, hard working efforts that have given the region the second highest diversion rate in the province.

Six municipal units form region seven, the smallest of Nova Scotia’s waste management regions.

The Mobius Environmental Awards recognize the achievements of innovative Nova Scotians who have helped make the province a leader in waste diversion. Tourism Minister Bill Dooks presented the awards on April 16, in conjunction with the Canadian Waste-Resource Symposium.
