Mariners take 2-1 series lead with road win
The (1)Yarmouth Mariners (6-2) edged the (3)Pictou County Weeks Crushers (5-4) 5-4 Wednesday night in New Glasgow in Game # 3 of the Bent Division Final.

With the win, Yarmouth now leads the best of 7 series 2-1.

Scott Sack led the Mariners with 2 goals while Jason Rinzler led the Crushers with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Jordan Knox (powerplay) opened the scoring at 3:13 to give the Crushers an early 1-0 lead. Rinzler scored at 13:26 to extend the lead to 2-0. Jordan Scott scored at 15:30 to cut the lead in half at 2-1 after the first period. Sack scored at 5:53 to tie the game 2-2. Jamie Klie scored at 7:21 to give the Mariners the lead at 3-2. Ryan Stoddard (powerplay) scored at 11:45 to retie the score at 3-3 after the second period. Ryan Penney (powerplay) scored at 1:58 to regain the lead for Yarmouth at 4-3. Rinzler (second goal of game) scored at 9:38 to deadlock the score at 4-4. Sack (game winner, second goal of game) scored at 17:48 for the win.

Yarmouth went 1 for 7 on the powerplay while Pictou County went 2 for 7.

Dallas Ungurian stopped 25 of 29 shots for the win while Alexandre Quessy (57:13) stopped 32 of 36 shots in the loss. Nicholas Barriere (2:13) allowed 1 goal on 1 shot in the second period.

Game # 4 in this series takes place Thursday night at the John "Brother" MacDonald Stadium in New Glasgow. Game time is set for 7:30pm.
