A 43-year-old Port Lorne, Annapolis County man is dead after a single vehicle crash on Arlington Road Wednesday at about 3 p.m.
Jimmy Richard Stewart Brennan, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene after his small compact car left the road at a high rate of speed and smashed into a culvert. Annapolis Valley RCMP Traffic Services Const. Ken Cook said it appeared Brennan was thrown from the vehicle on impact but it is believed he was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash took place at Mount Rose and the road was closed for about three hours while traffic investigators investigated the crash site.
Cook said roads were good at the time of the crash but that speed was a factor in the crash.
Traffic Services members were assisted by Annapolis RCMP members from Bridgetown and by Port Lorne and Bridgetown fire departments.
Brennan lived at Britain Road in Port Lorne.
Cook said the crash is still under investigation.
