Mariners take 3-0 series lead
The (1)Yarmouth Mariners (3-0) hung on to defeat the (4)Amherst Ramblers (3-3) 3-2 Wednesday night in Yarmouth before a packed house in Game 3 in the Bent semifinal series.

With the win, the Mariners take a commanding 3-0 best of 7 series lead.

Tyler Williams opened the scoring at 10:31 to give Yarmouth a 1-0 lead. Danny Anger scored at 16:05 to extend the lead to 2-0 after the first period. Ryan Penney (game winner) scored at 10:05 to increase the lead to 3-0. Andrew Oakley (powerplay) scored at 12:17 to cut the lead to 3-1 after the second period. Adam Chipman (unassisted powerplay) scored at 13:05 to move to within a goal at 3-2 but that would be as close as they would get.

Yarmouth went 0 for 6 on the powerplay while Amherst went 2 for 10.

Jocelyn Morrissette stopped 31 of 33 shots for the win while Andrew Flemming stopped 29 of 32 shots in the loss.

Game 4 of this series takes place on Friday night in Amherst at the Amherst Stadium. Game time is set for 8:00pm.
