Cst. Aaron Swimm is on duty at the new Clark's Harbour Town Hall facility this morning. The Barrington detachment plans on manning an office for a few hours each Monday morning when possible as a convenience to residents. The service is a pilot project and will continue based on use.

The Barrington RCMP detachment is making it more convenient for residents on Cape Sable Island to express their concerns and discuss issues.
Each Monday, starting March 3, a RCMP officer will spend from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at an office in the new multi-purpose Clark’s Harbour Town Hall facility.
The office time will be additional to regular patrols of the area. Sgt. Barry Mooney says the service is being viewed as an added convenience for residents.
“If people want to talk to the police and they don’t want to drive all the way to Barrington, they can go in Monday morning when a member is in the office,” he said.
He added that the department would be keeping track of how many people access the service in order to warrant an expanded or permanent arrangement.
Residents should call the town office on Monday before making a trip to visit an officer as the day and time are tentative barring unforeseen circumstances.
