There are still no arrests for the murder of 12-year old former Shelburne resident, Karissa Boudreau and for now, police are releasing few details about the investigation.
“We have a dozen investigators working 14-hour days to solve the case,” said Sgt. Mark Gallagher of the RCMP, “and we are optimistic that charges will be laid.”
He was unable to say when only stating that the police are currently collecting evidence for the investigation and following the proper police procedures.
Sgt. Gallagher denied that the police were waiting for any test results, such as DNA samples, to aide in the investigation.
Three suspects were arrested for questioning shortly after Karissa’s body was found, but were released 24-hours later.
Her body was found along the LaHave River outside of Bridgewater two weeks after her mother Penny Boudreau claimed she went missing from a Sobey’s parking lot.
