Thefts, break-ins dominate RCMP’s week

The Annapolis detachment of the RCMP responded to 68 calls for assistance during the week of February 18 through February 24.

Among these were five false alarms; four false 911s; three traffic accidents and three domestic incidents.

Following are highlights of these calls:

-- February 18 at 11:30 a.m. A Clementsport resident reported that an envelope containing monetary donations had been lost.

-- February 18 at 2 p.m. A quantity of heating oil was reported stolen from a Torbrook Mines residence. The Department of Environment was notified. The matter is still under investigation.

-- February 18 at 3:48 p.m. A Middleton resident reported a compliant of an attempted online fraud.

-- February 18 at 8:54 p.m. A Waldec resident reported hearing gunshots. A patrol was made and determined that someone was deer jacking.

-- February 19 at 9:37 a.m. A theft under $5,000 was reported following a break and enter into a Granville residence.

-- February 19 at 11 a.m. A resident reported losing a small purse in Middleton.

-- February 19 at 11:44 a.m. A break and enter was reported into a seasonal residence in Lawrencetown. The matter is still under investigation.

-- February 19 at 12:59 p.m. A South Farmington resident complained that someone not wearing a helmet was driving a loud ATV.

-- February 19 at 3:11 p.m. About $3,000 worth of copper was reported stolen from the former cadet residence at the Cornwallis base.

-- February 19 at 7:56 p.m. A Middleton resident reported a disturbance of the peace. An intoxicated individual was arrested for assault and possession of marijuana.

-- February 19 at 8 a.m. A Bridgetown resident reported receiving a harassing email.

-- February 19 at 10:17 a.m. A traffic hazard was reported in Clementsport, after an abandoned vehicle was blocking the road.

-- February 20 at 6:46 a.m. Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle on Virginia Rd.

-- February 20 at 8 a.m. Police received a report of a theft from a vehicle in Wilmot.

-- February 20 at 2:14 p.m. Police were called to a traffic accident in Clementsport. No injuries were reported.

-- February 20 at 2:15 p.m. Police were called to Melvern Square to investigate a complaint of theft under $5,000 after building supplies were stolen from a construction site.

-- February 20 at 5:57 p.m. A Bridgetown resident reported that two bicycles were stolen.

-- February 20 at 11:02 p.m. A Clementsport resident reported hearing a gunshot. A patrol was made and determined that someone was jacking deer.

-- February 21 at 9:35 a.m. An erratic driver was reported seen in Deep Brook.

-- February 21 at 9:46 a.m. A driver was reported for speeding in Bridgetown.

-- February 21 at 4:10 p.m. A Nictaux resident reported a stolen snowmobile.

-- February 21 at 4:50 p.m. A Cornwallis Park resident reported a theft under $5,000. Police determined that the complaint was unfounded.

-- February 21 at 6:50 p.m. A Bridgetown resident reported a suspicious person had come to the door.

-- February 22 at 10:34 a.m. Police received a report that a vehicle was blocking access to a commercial establishment.

-- February 22 at 10:30 a.m. A Bridgetown resident reported receiving harassing phone calls.

-- February 22 at 4:30 p.m. An erratic driver was reported seen in Wilmot.

-- February 22 at 4:50 p.m. A transport truck was reported to be driving with an insecure load in Lake Munro. A patrol was made and deemed that the load had become loose while the truck was jostled as it navigated over rough roads.

-- February 22 at 6:08 p.m. A Middleton resident reported a complaint of harassment.

-- February 22 at 8:10 p.m. A Margaretsville resident reported seeing a suspicious vehicle.

-- February 22 at 8:54 p.m. A Middleton resident reported a complaint of mischief, after an individual set off fireworks.

-- February 22 at 10:55 p.m. Police were called to a single vehicle accident in Wilmot. No injuries were reported.

-- February 23 at 1:17 a.m. Police arrested an impaired driver in Nictaux.

-- February 23 at 3:24 a.m. A Middleton resident reported a complaint of property damage.

-- February 23 at 8 a.m. A Wilmot resident reported a complaint of property damage.

-- February 23 at 9:51 a.m. A Wilmot resident reported a break and enter into a barn. Windows were damaged.

-- February 23 at 12:48 p.m. A Deep Brook resident requested police to assist in dealing with harassment.

-- February 23 at 1:34 p.m. Upper Granville resident reported a theft.

-- February 23 at 5:07 p.m. Police were called to a single vehicle accident on the Highway 101 near Bridgetown. No injuries were reported.

-- February 23 at 7:53 p.m. A suspicious person was reported seen around a Melvern Square residence.

-- February 23 at 9:43 p.m. A Bridgetown resident reported an assault.

-- February 23 at 10:05 p.m. A Bridgetown service station reported a gas and go.

-- February 24 at 3:29 p.m. Building supplies were reported stolen in Cornwallis Park.

-- February 24 at 6:07 p.m. A Wilmot resident reported a disturbance of the peace.

-- February 24 at 7:36 p.m. A driver was reported for tailgating in Wilmot.
