Welcome Tammy, Korey and Carolyn

The Kings CED Agency welcomes Tammy Grant and Korey Keeney from the Acadia University Cooperative Employment Program. Tammy and Korey come to the Agency with a background in business and are currently completing their Bachelor of Business Administration at Acadia University.

The Cooperative Employment Program commenced with the Agency Jan. 3, 2008 and continues until April 18, 2008.

As Project Development Assistant, Tammy is working on researching, organizing and developing a Youth Council for Kings County. As AVESTA Coordinator, Korey is working on coordinating all activities surrounding the Annapolis Valley Event and Sport Tourism Association.

As well, the Agency would like to welcome Carolyn Hiltz, a graduate of NSCC Kingstec, with an Office Information Technology Certificate. Carolyn is completing an eight-week work term placement with the Agency.

Grand-Pre and area Community Association public meeting

There will be a public meeting March 4, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Horton Community Centre in Grand-Pre to discuss the formation of a Grand-Pre and Area Community Association. All are welcome to attend.

Do you have an idea and aren’t sure what to do next? Would you like some help to explore your business idea?

If so, the Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship (ACSBE) is offering a free workshop, with information and resources to help you start a business.

The workshop will be held March 7, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kings CED Agency, 35 Webster Street, Kentville.
