RCMP in Kings County responded to 312 reports in the past week.

January 28, police were called to the Wal-Mart parking lot in New Minas, where a driver explained his vehicle had been damaged by a shopping cart.

Police are investigating a case of perjury after a woman gave testimony about her boyfriend in court recently.

A driver in New Minas swerved to avoid another vehicle and hit a tree on Commercial St. about 12:49 p.m.

A white Ford rolled over on icy road in Steam Mill.

Thieves entered a New Minas business, but did not steal or break anything.

A Kingston resident reported identity theft for fraudulent purposes.

January 29, a Canaan resident reported a power pole on fire at 5:50 a.m. on English Mt. Rd.

A Ford truck landed on its roof in the ditch in Garland at 6:04 a.m.

There were single vehicle collisions in Pereau and East Dalhousie due to the road conditions.

Someone stealing cigarettes was caught on video at the Cambridge reserve about 1:30 p.m.

A two-vehicle collision occurred in Auburn at 4 p.m.

A drunk was arrested outside Dooley’s in New Minas at 10:51 p.m. His Baccardi was seized.

At 12:14 a.m. January 30, police received a 911 call from an eight-year-old girl who awoke and found herself home alone. Police arrived shortly after the mother, who said she’d been to a convenience store.

A vehicle reported stolen from Pereau was located in Wolfville.

A North Kentville resident came home to six inches of water in the basement and reported it as a break-in. There was no sign of a break-in, but the basement was flooded.

Two individuals possibly drinking underage were reported from Highland Ave. in Wolfville at 11 p.m.

Money was reported stolen out of a coat hung up in a home on Hillside Ave. in Wolfville. The 5 a.m. caller said the door was easily accessible.

A former student was found passed out in a snow bank near the high school in Canning at 1 p.m. The young male admitted to drinking an eight-pack of cold shots after EHS determined he was drunk, not ill.

There were minor collisions in Cambridge and New Minas.

A Belcher St. resident phoned police about a man impersonating a police officer who appeared at her door about 3:30 p.m.

A man was causing a disturbance at the gas bar on the Cambridge reserve at 4 p.m.

A 14-year-old male stole some non-alcoholic beer from the grocery store in Canning, but his image was captured on video.

A youthful shoplifter was arrested in Zellers, New Minas, about 7:45 p.m.

A youth and his friends were roaring around Country Club Blvd. in New Minas at 9 p.m.

Just after midnight January 31, two youths picked up some lawn ornaments and placed them on the road in Greenwood.

A seniors’ residence in Aylesford was struck by vandals- again - who spraypainted windows.

A driver was stopped at the liquor store in Kingston and determined to have no licence, no insurance or inspection.

Thieves got into a residence on Prospect Rd. in New Minas through a back window.

Two female shoplifters were stopped at the County Fair Mall in New Minas at 5:41 p.m.

A Citizen’s Patrol member called police about a man staggering in traffic in Waterville at 6:30 p.m.

A loud party was reported at 3:58 a.m. Feb. 1 on Charles St. in North Kentville.

A man tried to steal several hundred dollars worth of lobster from a Kingston grocery store and was captured on video.

Someone stole aviation fuel from the Waterville airport.

A three-car pile-up in New Minas was blamed on a dog in the road.

A young man broke a bed in a store in New Minas at 8 p.m.

Several video game systems were stolen from a house on Oakdene Ave. in North Kentville.

A man in his 50s tried to steal auto parts from Canadian Tire February 2.

A BBQ was stolen off a back deck on Highland Ave. in Wolfville.

Later, two 13-year-old girls were released to their parents in New Minas after trying to steal makeup.

A man tried to steal two or three bags of groceries from a store in Kingston.

Later, a Highland Ave. resident reported his car attacked by vandals on three occasions.

A February 3 report of an impaired driver on Highway 101 near New Minas turned out to be an elderly woman.

A business on Jordan Rd. in Canning was broken into and some money taken.

A Cambridge resident was being harassed by text messages about 10:50 a.m.

Three young men who were drinking were evicted by Empire Theatres in New Minas, but were gone when police arrived.

Three youth in a vehicle left without paying for $70 worth of gas in Kingston about 8:30 p.m.

There were 12 domestic incidents during the week, including a 14-year-old girl who was out of control. An elderly woman approached a store clerk for assistance after her husband assaulted her. He was arrested.

There were two sudden deaths and seven mental health calls. There were 11 false business alarms, 10 false residential alarms and 19 false 911 calls. Each one wasted approximately 30 minutes of police time.
